Live in each season as it passes; breathe the air, drink the drink, taste the fruit, and resign yourself to the influence of the earth.

Hello and Welcome

If you’re feeling anxious or distressed, talking to someone who is really listening can help. I have no fixed agenda, preferring instead to be there so that you can find a way forward that’s right for you. I’ll invite you to describe your experiences and to be curious about your thoughts and feelings. Becoming more aware of the ways in which we think, feel and act can help us to feel more fulfilled, happy and hopeful in ourselves and in our relationships.

I am a qualified counsellor with Accredited Registrant Membership of the National Counselling Society. I work to the standards of the National Counselling Society's Ethical Code. This means that I work closely with other professionals to safeguard the interests of my clients.

Why try Andrew Taylor Counselling?

After a career in education in the UK and abroad, I trained to become a counsellor at Heartwood College.  I am passionate about counselling because I know that talking in the safety of the counselling environment can make things better.

In my own time, I love getting outside as much as possible - running on the coast paths, walking on the moors, swimming in the sea when it's warm enough. I also like reading; good writers can show you so much about how other peoples' lives unfold and this helps me to understand and to feel connected with the world.

What to expect in the first session?

In the first meeting, we'll create a mutual contract and you can think about what you want to explore through counselling. During this first one-hour session, we can also decide when and how often we want to meet.

It is important that you feel fully involved in the therapeutic process.  You will always be in a position to ask questions and to say what you think about the way we work together. The counselling room is a safe environment so you can talk about the things that really matter to you.
